Testing / Inspections
Lifting and Crane have an experienced team of qualified engineers to carry out ‘comprehensive’ statutory examinations in line with L.O.L.E.R. ‘The Lifting Operations Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998’.
The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (L.O.L.E.R), together with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (P.U.W.E.R) came into force in 1998. These two new legislations replaced the old 1961 Factories Act.
Under L.O.L.E.R, your lifting equipment must be thoroughly examined at a period not exceeding 12 months or sooner as stated in your Risk Assessments, depending on any hazards or frequency of use. Lifting accessories under the same legislation must be thoroughly examined within a period of 6 months, or again, as per your Risk Assessments.
As duty holders, it is the responsibility of the user of these products to ensure that records are kept to comply to this legislation.
In both cases, the law states that these examinations must be conducted by a Competent Person. Our team of qualifies engineers are at our customers’ disposal to conduct examinations and advise on keeping records, risk assessments and general guidance on compliance with the legislation.
Conforming with L.O.L.E.R and ensuring that your records are kept up to date means that there is no need to incur the extra costs of engaging your insurance company to conduct the task.
Upon completion, we will register your Company particulars, lifting equipment information and test history at our premises for statutory purposes which are always available upon request.
We are also experienced to carry out tests on new or repaired lifting equipment whether on our customer’s site or back at our own premises. Calibrated tensile load and compression cells are available up to 50 tonnes capacity.
Whatever the requirement, Lifting and Crane can help.
Repairs / Servicing
Damage to lifting equipment or accessories often occur within the industry on a regular basis due to arduous use. As a result we can offer a complete service where our engineers who are experts in the field can carry out the repairs on or off site on behalf of our customers.
Lifting equipment and accessories to be repaired can also be dropped into our manufacturing facility in Gloucester or alternatively can be collected from your site or premises whichever is more convenient. Your items will then be inspected by one of our engineers who will provide you with a cost estimate before proceeding with any repairs. You items will be repaired with genuine parts wherever possible and would come with a 3 month warranty.
However, when an item is found to be beyond economical repair, we can provide you with a price for a suitable replacement.
We perform static and dynamic tests, plus tensile and compression testing up to 50 tonnes. We also specialise in the repair and servicing of electric overhead travelling factory cranes.
All items are returned with either a valid ‘Certificate of Thorough Examination’ or a ‘Test Certificate of Conformity’ so that they can be put straight back into service.
We have a complete range of lifting equipment and accessories, mechanical handling equipment and safety harnesses for hire. All stock is in excellent condition and has a valid test certificate therefore, ready for immediate and safe use.
All equipment can be hired for both short term and long term contracts what ever your requirement.
All we ask is for a deposit upon collection of which is payable upon return in line with our terms and conditions of hire.
